MimiVax and UI Pharmaceuticals Achieve Milestone in SurVaxM Production for Glioblastoma Treatment
January 10, 2025
MimiVax, Inc. and UI Pharmaceuticals announced the successful clinical manufacture of SurVaxM at UI Pharmaceuticals’ newly qualified sterile manufacturing facility. The collaboration combines MimiVax’s research with UI Pharmaceuticals’ formulation development and sterile production expertise.
SurVaxM is currently being evaluated in a randomized Phase 2b clinical trial for glioblastoma at 11 leading cancer centers across the United States, with additional trials exploring its potential in multiple myeloma, neuroendocrine tumors and pediatric relapsed high-grade glioma. SurVaxM has also received FDA Fast Track designation for glioblastoma.
“This designation is a key component in our journey to help patients with glioblastoma live longer,” said Michael J. Ciesielski, PhD, Chief Executive Officer.
About SurVaxM: SurVaxM is an immunotherapy targeting survivin, a cell-survival protein present in glioblastoma and many other cancers. It is designed to stimulate a patient’s immune system to recognize survivin-expressing cancer cells, controlling tumor growth and recurrence.
