Scott Davis, Ph.D.

Dr. Davis serves as Managing Director of the Sontag Innovation Fund and Senior Scientific Officer of The Sontag Foundation. His work focuses on leading the Fund’s venture philanthropy and impact-investment activities, partnering with scientists, clinicians, entrepreneurs and investors to identify and advance promising therapeutics, diagnostics and technologies for brain cancer. As Senior Scientific Officer, he also supports the Foundation’s grantmaking efforts by providing scientific perspective on research opportunities, funding priorities and the potential impact of proposed and funded work.

His experience spans neuroscience, intellectual property, technology transfer and early-stage commercialization. Before joining Sontag, Dr. Davis served as Senior Director of Innovation Support and Commercialization at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he helped lead a team responsible for evaluating inventions, managing patent strategy, negotiating agreements and assisting researchers in translating academic discoveries into commercial opportunities.

Dr. Davis is a Registered Patent Agent and earned his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from The University of Texas at Austin. His work bridges scientific discovery, strategic funding and commercial development to advance meaningful solutions for people affected by brain cancer.
